Kate Goodrich Elementary proudly serves the north-central portion of the Merrill School District. There are 365 students (Kindergarten through Grade 2) who enjoy our wonderful facility. Kate Goodrich was built in 1998. Our building was named after Merrill's first school teacher, Kate Goodrich. Our building spans 89,000 square feet. Our staff and students enjoy large common areas that include two (2) separate playgrounds. Students also have a large green space where many games are played. Our staff is dedicated to providing a high-quality education that is both rigorous and personalized to meet the needs of all learners.
Our “SOAR slips” notes home and High Flyer Assemblies allows students, staff, and community to recognize positive actions by our students. These are merely a few ways we celebrate our students' success. By focusing on the good choices students make, adults are able to foster positive, lasting relationships with learners.
A Continuous School Improvement model drives our constant desire to better our students, staff, and curriculum. The core learning areas of math, reading, science, and social studies are constantly being refined to meet the needs of our students and their futures. Music, art, physical education, guidance, and technology lessons are an integral component of the well-rounded experiences we offer. Educating the “whole child” inside and outside the classroom becomes the ultimate goal. Our learning environment allows students to explore, make decisions, and foster authentic learning in a creative way.
