I am pleased to serve the Merrill community, staff and students as the superintendent of schools and look forward to the great things we can accomplish together.
I bring a unique perspective to this superintendency having grown up in Merrill, graduated from Merrill High School and having served as the principal of Merrill High School for the past 16 years. This background and experience puts me in a position to truly understand the community--both in looking back and in looking forward-- and the important role our schools play in helping our young people develop and in moving our community forward.
I am extremely proud to be from Merrill and think that we have great schools! The Merrill Area Public Schools are right-sized in that we are small enough where students can feel like they belong and teachers and students truly get to know each other. However, we are also large enough that we can provide a wide variety of programs, offerings and opportunities for our students to meet their individual needs and interests and get them ready for the future and world that awaits them.
Exciting times await our district and our students. MAPS will continue to focus on student achievement and success and will work even harder to strengthen the relationships and partnerships with our community. In addition, we will continue to keep student and staff wellness at the forefront of all that we do, and will continue to be outstanding fiscal stewards with our resources. The end result will be successful learners, happy and healthy students and staff, and a community that embraces our schools and touts Bluejay Pride!
Please feel free to contact me at any time as I am always eager to hear from our community. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to continuing my service to the Merrill community. Go Bluejays!
Thank you!
